Case For Support

Our Mission

Stride Aquatics is dedicated to reducing preventable drownings around the world through awareness, instruction, and engagement, making water an accessible place for all people, of all abilities.

The Crisis: Why This Work Matters

Drowning is one of the most overlooked public health crises worldwide. The statistics are alarming:

Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4 in the U.S.Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children under 14.Nearly 4,000 people drown annually in the U.S.β€”an average of 11 drownings per day (CDC).Globally, 236,000 people drown each year, with low-income communities disproportionately affected (WHO).Black children are 1.5 times more likely to drown than white children, and 64% of black and 45% of Hispanic children have little to no swimming ability (USA Swimming Foundation).Children with disabilities are at significantly higher risk of drowning due to limited access to adaptive swimming lessons and water safety education.

Despite these numbers, swimming lessons remain inaccessible for many due to financial, geographic, and cultural barriers. The lifesaving skill of swimming should not be a privilegeβ€”it should be a fundamental right.

Why Your Support Matters

Formal swim lessons reduce the risk of drowning by 88% for young children, yet so many families cannot afford or access them. By supporting Stride Aquatics, you are not only teaching a child to swim – YOU ARE SAVING LIVES.

Stride Aquatics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Your contribution today will help ensure that every child, regardless of background or ability, has the opportunity to learn life-saving water skills.
